We'll after looking back the last time I blogged was a month ago. I need to do a little better job of keeping you more up to date. First of all, happy belated July 4th. We did have a great June despite of it normally being a slow month and Craig being gone on his family vacation. BTW, congrats to he and Andi on Cahaly baby #3. We are looking forward to a good July because it is a rare time when we have both fall and spring fabrics available. The spring fabrics have been discounted!!!
Craig and I did have an interesting appointment earlier this week. We meet with a guy I have been calling on for quite some time now. Craig had a delivery in Greenville and I had this appointment so we went together as we often do. The customer said he wasn't going to buy anything because we were together and he only wanted to deal with one guy, so I rescheduled to go back and visit with him one on one on a different day. That was a first.
On another topic, the Braves are on fire right now and hopefully they can keep it up tonight against the division leading Phillies. Also, talk around the shop has been more and more focused on college football and the anticipation of things to come. It should be a very interesting season.
If you haven't read our newsletter, you may want to check it out for the gift certificate that is included.

Bill Owings Custom Clothing
I am a Custom Clothier with Bill Owings Custom Clothing. I thought about writting this blog to let current customers, and potential clients learn more about the person who will be taking care of their clothing as well as describe the different types of people I meet on a daily basis.

It's June
After a very slow start to May, we ended up having an outstanding month. We can accredit a lot of that to the End Of Season Specials that started May 15 and run until the end of June. In the clothing world there are two seasons Spring and Fall. The Spring selling season starts in January and the Fall Selling Season starts in August. All of our manufacturers are trying to sale all of the spring fabrics to make room for the fall fabrics coming in July. That means during June, prices on fabrics are reduced, and you, the consumer, is the big winner. June is a great time to purchase Custom Clothing.
Don't forget about Fathers Day coming up. Get you dad or husband a piece of Custom Clothing or a gift certificate for his next suit, sport coat or custom shirt!

Aprils Fools
Going into our second year of being independent from the Columbia office, we have had our best quarter with March being our biggest month ever. We have been all over the place, but the hard work has paid off.
March wasn't all peaches though. I had a flat tire on a rainy Thursday morning and had to catch a cab to two different appointments. I also learned a valuable lesson in March. It is better to deal with a problem promptly because the longer it lingers the more difficult the problem is to resolve.
Check back in a few days, I have recorded several excuses we have gotten for not wanting to buy clothes, and as my nature, my smart alec responses to those excuses.
Don't forget to join our MLB playoff pick em for store credit for every team you get right.

The first two weeks of March has been a whirlwind. Between Craig and I, we have been to Atlanta twice, Asheville, Columbia, Greenville and Spartanburg with trips planned to go back to Atlanta and Asheville this week. I always tell our customers that working in Anderson is advantageous for us because there are two major cities within a two hour drive. Actually Central, SC got it's name from being halfway between Atlanta and Charlotte on the Southern Railroad. There is your history for today!
We had a good meeting in Columbia this afternoon with Bill and the other salesman. We had a new group photo made to go on our new website that will be coming out soon. We also designed some new packages not only for suits but also for pants and shirts for that guy who works in a "business casual" office.

Custom Clothier
Today started off a little rough. I have been in a little funk lately, and flooding my iPhone while running in the rain Sunday morning didnt help. I did have a good appointment with someone from Spartanburg whose great grandfater has a bulding named after him at Clemson. Since I am a '04 graduate and former employee of Clemson, I thought that was a rare connection.
Speaking of Clemson, they play the Gamecocks tomorrow in the rubber game of a three game series. Hopefully bat gate 2011 will not continue.

Custom Clothier
Let me start by saying I am not a blogger. I did though, think it may be interesting to share about the trends I see in men's clothing working as a Custom Clothier with Bill Owings Custom Clothing, as well as the people I meet and the places I travel as I travel throughout this state, Atlanta, Asheville, and Charlotte. Enjoy!
